Santosh leads the energy and climate change practice at Intellecap. He supports clean energy entrepreneurs with knowledge, network, and capital solutions at Intellecap. He has more than 15 years of experience in Base of the Pyramid (BoP) market development with a focus on energy access, climate resilient agriculture and climate finance. Before joining Intellecap, Santosh was working with the World Bank (South Asia Region) where his work focused on developing affordable clean cooking/energy access solutions, and climate finance interventions for various sectors. In past, he has worked as Technical Expert for GIZ and led Rural Market Insight program at the Institute for Financial Management and Research. He has also advised Tata Trusts, CLEAN, GIZ and several social enterprises on energy access, result based financing and last-mile distribution models. He has authored several publications on energy access and BoP mar¬kets and presented his work to practitioners and academic audiences. He is a Mathematics graduate and has a post-graduate degree from Indian Institute of Forest Management, Bhopal.

Shruti joins us as Partner with the Business Consulting team in Intellecap. She will be based out of our Delhi office.

She is a Chartered Accountant and holds an MBA from IIM Kozhikode.

Shruti is a passionate social impact consultant with 12+ years of experience in advisory, designing and implementing projects focusing on achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. She has led and guided projects in education, livelihoods, healthcare and gender equality in collaboration with multinational organisations, foundations, corporates, non-profits and government bodies such as NITI Aayog.

She has worked with KPMG, Goldman Sachs, Franklin Templeton in roles covering management consulting, investment research, fixed income money markets and has had experience in multicultural environments across geographies such as US, Africa and Middle East.

She was a Students’ Council member at Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, wherein she facilitated all student-related activities. She is a founding member of Women in Management, IIMK and City Chapter Head (Delhi) for IIMK Alumni Association. She has also co-founded Abhiyaan Wealth to promote financial literacy and assist people to build wealth.

Prachi has close to 12 years of experience in strategy and impact consulting on ESG and climate, climate/carbon finance, enterprise development and policy research. She is currently advising India’s largest infrastructure and PE fund manager on ESG impact metrics & framework. Funds under NIIF include Somerset, Arpwood, YourNest, HDFC Capital, Green Growth Equity Fund (GGEF) etc.  She recently concluded a project with BEE and Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation on shaping the carbon market in India which included reviewing policy, institutional and carbon market infrastructure requirements aligned to Art. 6 of Paris Agreement; assessing demand of carbon credits; defining decarbonization pathways of emission-intensive sectors; analyzing key market trends in the voluntary and compliance-based market; reviewing existing carbon pricing mechanisms; and developing governance frameworks and marker infrastructure design for carbon markets in India.

She has also led engagements on ESG/sustainability advisory for corporates, investors and development organizations. Some of her key projects included developing ESG policies and implementation frameworks for PE funds (such as CPPIB, Olympus Capital) and their investee companies; conducting E&S risk and opportunity assessment and development of action plans for 20+ investee companies and 50+ MSMEs based on global frameworks and guidelines such as IFC Performance Standards, UNPRI, Equator principles etc., for PE funds, Pension Funds and corporates; and designing ESG training module for a bank in Sri Lanka funded by IFC and for fund managers (IVCA members in  India).

Kavya has 8 years of diverse experience in consulting focused on market assessment, policy research, institutional analysis, strategy design, and monitoring and evaluation across the themes of carbon markets, climate finance, natural resource management and clean energy. She has been undertaking engagements on shaping the carbon market in India which included reviewing policy, institutional and carbon market infrastructure requirements aligned to Art. 6 of Paris Agreement; assessing demand of carbon credits; defining decarbonization pathways of emission-intensive sectors; analyzing key market and price trends in the voluntary and compliance-based market; reviewing existing carbon pricing mechanisms; and developing governance frameworks and infrastructure design for carbon markets in India. She also undertook policy and market research to identify approaches for creating and innovative financing mechanism/platform that enables carbon credit to benefit India's smallholder farmers.

She is involved in estimating the GHG emission reduction potential of different types of forestry carbon projects, developing price and supply forecasting for different types of carbon-credit generating projects (including forestry and agriculture), and designing frameworks for innovative financing mechanisms such as state climate fund. She is also providing advisory support for a project on identification of the role of digital and non-digital technologies in supporting a net zero transition in the agriculture sector. Moreover, she has experience in developing climate adaptation strategies (including climate resilient agriculture practices, biodiversity enhancement and sustainable livelihoods) and conducting monitoring and evaluation of multi-year projects in the agroforestry sector.

Ashay has over 10 years of experience in the energy, power systems, and climate change sectors, working in impact-based strategic consulting and market research domains with an in-depth focus on energy transition strategies, policy advocacy, and enterprise support. He is currently involved in designing strategies for energy access, renewable energy deployment, energy storage, blockchain, and e-mobility segments. Prior to joining Intellecap, Ashay has worked with India Infrastructure Publishing and Frost & Sullivan. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Delhi University.

Soumyajit Mondal

Soumyajit brings on board expertise in carbon markets and ESG/sustainability advisory. He has 17 years of experience working on projects in the fields of carbon markets, ESG, business sustainability, CSR, circular economy, and infrastructure development. He has successfully managed and registered 50+ carbon projects under CDM, VCS, CCX, GS, and other crediting mechanisms across the sectors of agriculture, forestry, improved cookstoves and renewable energy. He has conducted due-diligence and analysed projects for Climate Funds. He has advised multiple clients on their carbon footprint, climate risk and strategy, CDP reporting, TCFD compliance, decarbonization pathways (SBTi, Net Zero), and assisted many with ISO 14064 certification. 

Soumyajit has also advised clients on Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) and assisted them in obtaining certification based on ISO 14067:2018 and PAS 2050.  He has also conducted capacity building workshops, especially for industries and academic institutions, on global sustainability frameworks like the UN SDGs, UNGC Principles, UN CEO Water Mandate, Integrated Reporting, UN PRI, OECD Guidelines, etc.

Ravi has close to 9 years of experience in project implementation and consulting focused on market research, policy review, feasibility studies, M&E and TA support across the sectors of agriculture and allied activities, forestry, sustainable livelihoods and climate change adaptation and mitigation. He is currently working on climate finance projects involving assessment of Indian and global carbon markets and platforms applicable to the agriculture and forestry sectors. He is supporting the end-to-end program implementation of a carbon credit-based agroforestry project in the state of Jharkhand. This includes conducting feasibility assessment, designing climate resilient strategies, conducting capacity building of farmers, preparing concept notes and project design document, and managing the project implementation partner. He is also working with IDH on a study to identify appropriate digital and non-digital technologies to reduce carbon emissions across the identified concentration points in agriculture and food-based corporate supply chains.

He has significant experience in the implementation of agriculture value chain projects and undertaking research assignments focused on farmer mobilization, sector assessment, policy analysis, and gap identification. Ravi has worked extensively on agriculture and allied sector projects involving digital and climate-smart agricultural solutions. He has in-depth knowledge of solutions involving increased crop/dairy/livestock production, market linkages, farm management, pre-production, production and post-production.

Utsav Mulay has over 12 years of experience in consulting focused on finance, sustainability, ESG, climate change and clean energy, with the last three years spent in advising the private sector in Kenya. He has extensive in-country experience in Ethiopia Rwanda, Tanzania, and Kenya. Utsav has undertaken projects in blended finance, sustainability reporting, business modeling, research, organized events around the Sustainable Development Goals as well as advising financial institutions on Green Climate Fund accreditation. He was project lead for supporting the solar training application center in Ethiopia, Cuba and Kiribati. Utsav has undergone training in Energy Efficiency in Emerging Economies, organized by the IEA, Solar Entrepreneurship Training for MSMEs by the Ministry of MSMEs in India and is a member of the International Society of Sustainability Professionals. He has also undertaken courses in Sustainable Finance by GIZ as well as Green Climate Fund for Simplified Approval Process for climate adaptation and mitigation projects worth US$10 million.

Jaya Jain

Jaya Jain

Jaya works on the nexus of financial services, climate change & energy, and gender. Jaya has worked with a diverse set of clients, including multilateral and bilateral organizations, foundations, and government agencies, including ADB, AFD, BMGF, IFC, ISA, Shakti Foundation, SIDBI, and the World Bank. She has been closely engaged in fund design and structuring of innovative instruments, particularly focusing on blended finance. She has worked on designing blended finance risk mitigation facility for enabling low-cost finance and catalyzing commercial capital to scale solar deployment in Africa and South Asia. On the nexus of climate change, gender, and finance, Jaya has been involved in strategy design and operationalization of pertinent initiatives, including a first-of-its-kind network for greening of finance by women, and a women's financial inclusion initiative. She has also worked on structuring a results-based financing facility for enabling affordable credit to women-owned collective enterprises in rural India. Prior to joining Intellecap, Jaya worked with the Emerging Markets Network of the OECD Development Centre, and with the OECD Working Party on Technology and Innovation Policy.
